Continuing The Tradition: Hosting Main Line Today’s ‘Women on the Move’ Luncheon
Each year, Main Line Today recognizes inspirational women in leadership around Philadelphia’s Main Line and western suburbs. To celebrate this year’s 20 Power Women honorees, they held their annual Women on the Move luncheon at Drexelbrook Catering & Special Event Center on October 25th.
We had the pleasure of hosting them last year, and we were delighted they chose us to host this year’s event too!
Something wonderful that Main Line Today does each year is raise awareness for a selected beneficiary at their Women on the Move event. This year, they held a drive at the luncheon for Purses Full of Hope, a nonprofit organization that delivers purses full of women’s toiletries to local shelters in Pennsylvania and South Jersey, assisting women who are seeking safety from domestic abuse, poverty and homelessness. With community close to our heart, Drexelbrook Catering was very proud to support this.
The luncheon went off without a hitch as over 400 attendees poured into our ballroom for the opening networking session. The air was filled with chatter as everyone mingled and learned more about this year’s beneficiary and sponsors.
Our award-winning chefs prepared a delicious menu for guests to indulge in after the networking session, and everyone had worked up an appetite just in time for it!
Guests sat down to plates of warm Rolls and Butter as our wait staff brought out the main course. For lunch, we served our famous Cider Braised Chicken Breast with Caramelized Onions and Fall Fruit Compote with Dried Cranberries and Sauteed Brussel Sprouts served over Butternut Squash Polenta. A vegetarian option of Pan Seared Tofu served atop Udon Noodles and Fall Vegetables with a Sweet Chili Glaze was available too.
This was followed by sweet treats of Dark Mocha Mousse with Marshmellow Skewer and Pumpkin Seed Brittle Garnish – the perfect October dessert!
Lunch winded down and it was time for one of the event highlights. Philadelphia’s award-winning reporter Lisa Thomas-Laury came onstage and guests were treated to an exclusive conversation between her and Philadelphia broadcasting icon Tracy Davidson.
The event closed with a final networking session as beverages were passed around by our staff.
We loved being a part of the Women on the Move luncheon for the second consecutive year, and look forward to hosting Main Line Today again!
