Welcoming Summer With Maureen & Dan’s June Wedding Reception
Planning a June wedding reception can be a daunting task. The weather can change on a dime, leaving it difficult to decide whether to go with an outdoor space or indoor venue. Fortunately, at Drexelbrook Catering, we’ve got both!
This past June, Maureen and Dan celebrated becoming husband and wife with a gorgeous indoor reception at Drexelbrook. While the bride and groom utilized our Studio Lounge for a private cocktail hour, guests enjoyed several appetizers and drinks in the Grand Lobby.
Our staff manned two mouthwatering Hors d’Oeuvre stations. At one table, two slider options were served: Black Angus Burgers with Pepper Jack Cheese paired with our homemade Kettle Truffle Chips, and Cider-Braised Heritage Pork with Celery Root Slaw and Horseradish Mayo. The second table was run by chefs preparing made-to-order pasta dishes, with the selection of toppings including Grilled Asparagus, Diced Chicken, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, and Lemon Butter White Wine and Oregano Sauce.
There were also several Butlered Hors d’Oeuvres, such as Spanakopita, Batter-Dipped Chicken n’ Waffles with Maple Dijon Drizzle, Tuna Tartare in a Savory Petit Cone, and Cheese Steak Spring Rolls with Spicy Ketchup and Chipotle BBQ.
Once Cocktail Hour came to a close, guests were escorted into the Grand Ballroom to await the arrival of the newlyweds. After a romantic first dance, everyone sat down for the main course. Guests had the options of Short Rib of Beef slow-braised and finished with a Seasonal Ale Reduction, Atlantic Salmon Pan-Seared and brushed with Pesto, Margarita Chicken topped with Mozzarella and Fresh Herbs, Pan-Seared Tofu topped with a Roasted Tomato Stew, and our Gluten-Free Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes topped with Micro Greens and Spicy Avocado Aioli. Talk about a mouthwatering menu!
As the summer celebration began to warm up on the dance floor with beats spun by opens in a new windowDiamond DJs, our staff served up the perfect way for guests to cool down: our Signature Sundae Bar! Scoops of Hand-Spun Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Cream were topped with Hot Fudge, Strawberry Sauces, Candy Toppings, Cherries, Whipped Cream, Drunken Bananas, and so many more options. The possibilities were endless, and we loved seeing the Sundae creations each guest came up with.
