Cassandra & Ray
As much as we love being on the East Coast, it often means having to deal with unpredictable weather at the most inconvenient of times.
The last thing you need to stress about on your wedding day is having it ruined by bad weather. That’s why so many newly engaged couples turn to Drexelbrook Catering & Special Event Center’s sprawling venue, with plenty of indoor and outdoor options to accommodate all types of weather!
Cassandra and Ray chose us for that very reason. With a mid-September wedding, they knew that the temperatures could spike or drop, and that a once-cloudless day could turn into a rainstorm in the blink of an eye. Our Grand Ballroom was the perfect place to celebrate their new lives as Mr. and Mrs., and our food comes second to none.
After exchanging their vows at an offsite church, the couple took advantage of the perfect weather to snap some photographs outside before making their way to Drexel Hill for their reception. As they and their guests filtered in, they were greeted by platters of butlered hors d’oeuvres being served both inside and on our beautiful outdoor patio.
Hors d’oeuvre options included Spanakopita, Batter Dip Chicken n’ Waffles with Maple Dijon Drizzle, Tuna Tartare in a Savory Petit Cone, and Vanilla Salt Miniature Beef Wellingtons with Horseradish Cream. There were also two stations set up, where Black Angus Sliders with American Cheese were grilled up, next to our Signature Crab Cakes table.
Dinner was equally mouthwatering. Guests had a choice between Brandywine Chicken with Rosemary, Garlic, Lemon, and Dijon Mustard, and Sliced Tenderloin of Beef served with a Brandy Demi Glace.
As the guests dined on their meals and the bride and groom cut their cake, the clouds rolled in and released an unexpected rain storm. Cassandra and Ray were so thankful that they had chosen an indoor wedding venue for their big day…but they still wanted to take advantage of our patio to steal a couple of kisses in the rain under the protection of a clear umbrella.
Once they returned inside, it was time for dessert. In addition to their cake – a four-tiered multi-flavored cake made by our talented friends at Sophisticakes – we also set up a Signature Sundae Bar. Guests filled their bowls with Hand-Spun Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Cream and topped it with Hot Fudge, Strawberry Sauce, Whipped Cream, Cherries, Toasted Coconut, Drunken Bananas, Sprinkles, and other Candy Toppings.
Cassandra and Ray had this to say about their experience with Drexelbrook Catering & Special Event Center:
We wanted to thank you for all of your help, guidance, and expertise making our wedding day so unbelievably fun. Our family and friends are still talking about how delicious the food was and how much fun they had!
We credit you for making sure everything came together so perfectly that day. We will continue to recommend you and Drexelbrook to our friends and family members that are newly engaged.
Thanks to Jordan Brian Photography for capturing such stunning photographs of Cassandra and Ray’s big day. Congratulations to the newlyweds, and here’s to a lifetime of happiness together, rain or shine!
