Drexelbrook Grand Ballroom First Dance

At Drexelbrook, we love spring. It means wedding season is finally here! Once a couple chooses us as their spring wedding venue, we love working closely with the brides and grooms to help make their wedding dreams a reality. It’s so exciting to see how our stunning spaces can be transformed to fit their visions!

Meghan and Kevin knew they wanted to get married in a church, but needed a space to host the nearly 300 people who would be celebrating their big day with them. Drexelbrook’s Grand Ballroom was the perfect place for the newlyweds and their family and friends to eat, drink, and dance the night away.

Drexelbrook Couple Toast

Megan and Kevin share a toast as husband and wife.

After the ceremony, guests made their way into our front doors, where they were greeted with butlered Hors d’Oeuvres such as Oriental Spring Rolls with Soba Noodles and Hoisin Dipping Sauce, Coconut-Crusted Chicken Tenderloins with Citrus Dip, Sea Scallops wrapped in Bacon, and Vanilla Salt Miniature Beef Wellingtons with Horseradish Cream. Our staff was also manning two tables, where a Slider Station and Risotto Station were set up. Guests enjoyed being able to pick and choose toppings for Black Angus Burger and Brisket Sliders. The Risotto Station offered several fresh spring options, such as Grilled Asparagus, Artichokes, Diced Chicken, and Sun-Dried Tomatoes, all of which could be mixed in with Creamy Risotto Milanese and topped with Reggiano Parmesan.

Once cocktail hour was over, guests made their way to the Grand Ballroom to await the bride and groom’s big entrance. After their first dance, a fresh spring salad of Butter Lettuce with Roasted Pears, Smoked Gouda, Candied Walnuts, and Citrus Vinaigrette held everyone over until the main course was served.

Dinner options included Grilled Center-Cut Filet Mignon with Brandy Demi Glace, Pan-Seared Atlantic Salmon with a Mustard Maple Glaze, and Brandywine Boneless Breast of Chicken with Rosemary, Shallots, Garlic, and Tomatoes.

After the guests had a ball showing off their moves on our custom dance floor to music spun by DJ Steve & Company, it was time for dessert. In addition to a gorgeous wedding cake prepared by our friends at SophistiCakes, our staff dished out scoops of ice cream with all the fixings at our Signature Sundae Bar.

As the night wore on and guests made their way home, they were each sent home with a Sweet Ending prepared by our chefs, as well as slices of pizza delivered by Thunderbird. It’s safe to say that no one left this party hungry!
